Hi friends! I hope you're all having a great Friday. Here's what's up on next week's meal plan: kelp noodles are my new favourite thing, so I'll be packing a kelp noodle salad for lunch on my lighter eating days. I'm totally obsessed with tahini in my smoothies right now and you should be too! I'm also looking forward to a couple of girl's nights next week, lunch out with colleagues, and Food Truck Friday (which I've decided is a thing now that I'm not swimming at lunch anymore). What's on your meal plan for next week?
1. Why you should ignore Canada's Food Guide and follow Brazil's instead.
2. On food labels, calorie miscounts.
3. Saturated fats and silly questions.

I read about Brazil's "real food" guidelines with keen interest. They have the right idea. People are pretty sick of the nutrionism that 'informs' recent North American food policy. Brazil's approach seems both do-able and on point. Also, I am a shocker for hoarding spices and flour, knowing full well that that being economical isn't always best. Oh dear. But it is weirdly fun cleaning out cupboards and finding the oldest products hiding in the back. 😉 Great shares here, Katie.

Yeah, like a chocolate bar would even last 4-6 months in my pantry much less go rancid lol

Yay Brazil!
I have never understood how people drag themselves out of bed in the middle of the night to eat. I've never, ever done that.
Thanks for the shelf life article. I'm going to clean out my spices now.
