Hi from NYC! The theme of this past week has been walk, eat, and repeat. I’ve got a pedometer app on my phone and have been tracking our steps each day, and we’ve clocked in some pretty good mileage. On Wednesday we did an epic walk from the East Village, over the Williamsburg bridge, into east Williamsburg / Bushwick for pizza at Roberta’s, then over to Brooklyn Heights, over the Brooklyn Bridge, and back to the East Village for a whopping 26,000 steps / 22 km of walking. Yesterday we clocked in just over 20,000 steps walking to Central Park, then back towards the Flatiron District where we had a long lunch at the incredible ABC Kitchen, then walked to / along the Highline, around Chelsea and the West Village where we stumbled across Magnolia Bakery so naturally had to try the famous cupcakes.

After an amazing week in NYC, my belly (and my pocket book) is ready for a break! The theme of next week’s meal plan is light eating, with lots of clean and green things. I get home early Saturday morning so should have plenty of time for meal prep, but just in case I’ve included things I know I’ve got in the freezer, like curried cauliflower chickpea wraps and lentil shepherd’s pie.

  1. Ahhhh I’m so jelly of you’re NYC trip! Sounds like you had an amazing time! I’m love the work exercises, I do calf raises when I’m waiting for my leftovers to heat up… fit it in!!
