Hi friends, happy Friday! I hope those of you who celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday had peaceful and loving days (and lots of pie!) and are enjoying some much deserved rest and relaxation today.
How is it already December next week? Total insanity! Of course the holiday parties, luncheons, cookie swaps, and so on are getting into full swing next week. I've got a lunch out with the other writers from my office next week, aaaaand the company holiday party is on Friday. I'm making an effort to balance all that out with lots of green smoothies, wholesome overnight oats, and I'm bringing back this kale and butternut squash salad in my lunches this week.
What's your December nutrition game looking like?
1. What do you think about the newly released FDA menu labelling regulations which will require calorie counts even on items such as movie theatre popcorn.
2. So, apparently Coca-Cola is getting to the dairy game with milk that will contain 30% less sugar, 50% more protein, and will cost twice as much as regular milk. And I'm sure it'll be from ethically raised cows too. File this one under ugh.
3. Michael Pollan wants you to take back control of you plate. So do I.
4. The Bulletproof diet. Simplistic, invalid, and unscientific. This is a good takedown by the Telegraph. So much insanity! Thoughts?
5. The big fat calorie counting con. Is our long-standing addiction to counting calories finally coming to an end?
