Happy Friday my friends! It's a wet and windy one here, so wherever you are I wish you a warm and cozy weekend. Some fun stuff on the meal plan next week. I'm dusting off my spiralizer and having zucchini noodles with tofu and sesame for some of my fast day lunches, and I'm experimenting with a grain salad for you guys this weekend, so that'll make it into the lunch box too. I'm looking forward to lunch out with a friend on Wednesday, and a Halloween / birthday party on Friday. Should be a fun week!

Great articles Katie. I especially liked the one about family dinners and the link to childhood obesity. I would think that many of those families cook dinner on those nights, rather than bring in fast food. It would also make sense that those children are less stressed, leading to reduced weight gain. As you probably know, studies have shown that stress plays a role in weight gain, especially around the abdomen. Kids who don't have structure, are more likely to be stressed, therefore, more likely to be overweight. makes sense to me.

Yes, stress and weight gain / obesity go hand in hand. I think it could also be healthy habits fostered at those family dinners making a difference. It's a good reminder for us to slow down and eat meals together, isn't it?
