I'm a tremendous wimp when it comes to chopping onions-- they make me cry hard and my eyes are red for the rest of the day-- so I use the food processor. I'm sort of embarrassed about that (Take away my foodie card!), but not enough to stop. And that article on pulses was really interesting! Worth trying to incorporate more of them in ...

I have found that if I chop onions with my contacts in they don't bother me at all. With my contacts out is an entirely different story though. No judgement on your food processor use.
