Well here we are, the last day of 2018. What. A. Year.
This year was a big one for me both personally and professionally. It was my first full year as a self-employed freelance nutrition consultant, writer, and content creator, and frankly? I think I rocked it.
I worked with individual nutrition clients to help them meet a range of goals. I worked with a nutrition startup as a recipe developer and nutrition consultant. I worked with a premium sportswear brand as a content marketer. I wrote dozens of articles as nutrition contributor for Hello Glow and Hello Veggie. I took on many writing projects, both big and small.
In May 2018, after much, much work behind the scenes, I re-launched this little ol' website as Hey Nutrition Lady, and I'm so, so happy with the results. I think you guys are as well? Because traffic is up a cool 28% from 2017.
I've been working on this website since June of 2010, but I got really, really serious about it in the last year. There was the re-brand, a professional SEO audit, and I've been doubling down on fixing old content. I've still got lots of cleanup work to do in 2019, but I'll also be focusing my energy on creating amazing new healthy and delicious recipes, and digging into the nutrition subjects you want to learn more about.
I internet-stalked and made friends with Sarah, which has been a super smart thing to do, both personally and professionally. She helps, motivates, and supports me, and has been integral to the success of this website this year.
In 2018 I travelled to Mauritius, New York (by myself!), Paris, London, Spain (a few places), Canada, and Canada again. We said goodbye to some good friends who moved across the globe, and I leaned in hard on my incredible circle of girlfriends.
In October 2018 I became a mother of two, when we welcomed little Odin Mattias into our family. It's been a steep learning curve and a whole lot of sleep deprivation and a whole lot of fun all at once.
I'm looking forward to hitting the ground running in 2019 and bringing even more great content to you all. This little corner of the internet wouldn't be what it is without you, who stop in here and read my babbling, make my recipes, send me emails, share my posts, and leave awesome comments. A heartfelt thank you for being along for the ride.
